FAM opens up ticket sales for Malawi v Benin match

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has opened up the pre-sale of tickets for international games starting with the crucial return leg against Benin at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

FAM marketing director Dan Tambala said the move would help to give a chance to many fans to access the tickets more easily.

Tambala said the centres chosen had been picked from the Southern Region being a pilot project and would be extended to other regions later.

“It is the wish of FAM to reach out to as many people as possible to access the tickets,” Tambala said.

“Some fans fail to watch games because they are not comfortable to que up to buy tickets on the very day of a game.”

However FAM has offered main centres to sell VIP, Covered, MBC and Open stand tickets while other centres would only sell Open Stands.

The main selling points are Chiwembe Technical Centre, Kamuzu Stadium, Blantyre Youth Centre, Blantyre steers/ Debonairs.

Other centres are Ndirande Market, near Thompex Hardware Shop, Mbayani near Zikomo atTimera Investments shop, Limbe Market at Home of Kits Shop, Manja Township near Primary School at Blessings Take Away and Tuck Shop
Chimwankhunda, Fair Price Shop, Chilomoni- PTC Metro Shop and BAT Ground.

Meanwhile, FAM  had released charges for the game with the Open stand going at K1,000,  MBC Stand K2,000,Covered Stand: K 5,000, VIP stand K10, 000.

Malawi lost 1-0 in the first leg Cotonou in Benin on July 20 and should fight for a 2-0 margin victory to progress.
