Mafco dislodge Blue Eagles  from second as Wanderers rise to 7th: Malawi TNM Super League

Salima based soldiers Mafco FC beat Blue Eagles FC on Saturday afternoon to squeeze themselves to the  second position of the top flight TNM Super League.

Blue Eagles needed to beat the military side to return to the top after they were dislodged from the top spot on Saturday after Silver beat Dwangwa United 1-0 at the Chitowe Stadium.

Mafco scored their two goals through Richard Mbulu and Zasher Mnong’oneza while the Area 30 cops scored their consolation goal through Gilbert Chirwa.

This means that the Eagles have trimmed themselve to third position with 25 points.

Second placed Mafco also have the same number of points but have a superior goal difference.

Speaking after the math, Blue Eagles Team Manager Gabriel Chirwa conceded the defeat and admitted they were second best.

His counterpart David Gulaimfa hailed his charges for the gallant fight that earned them maximum points.

He therefore vowed to continue fighting hard while urging all their supporters to continue giving them maximum points if they are to win the league title.

At the Kamuzu Stadium, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers were 4-0 winners over Wizard FC.

With the win, the Nomads have moved three places up to sevent from 10th and they have 20 points.

Captain Francis Mlimbika, Peter Wadabwa, Jafallie Chande and Rafiq Mussa were on target for the Lali Lubani Boys.
