The first thing the government did to show that this is actually not the direction the Ministry is taking was to appoint Kaliati as its Minister. We all know she is less of ICT and more of blah blah blah!

I don’t understand Malawian politicians’ shallow thinking when it comes to naming ministries: The name of a ministry does not have to reflect EVERYTHING that happens in that ministry. This is a costly and ultimately useless undertaking. Now all stationery has to be changed to reflect the new name; and just think about how ungainly the name will sound during news on the radio.

We should follow the example of the UK and the US where ministry names are kept short and sweet – and remain the same no matter which party is in power. In the US you simply have Department of Defence, Department of Health, Department of State and so on, yet each of these ministries individually deal with much more than their Malawian counterparts…

when internet price is exobitant.we will not worship you because we know you are just good at initiating than implementing.if few malawians only access ict services due to high cost how do you promote ict?.when telecom operators steal from people with unreliable & dubious deductions making billions profits in country where majority are poor how do you promote ict?.when even than minister herself needs orientation on how to handle public information not being anoise maker

Malawi has taken a right direction. Actually this is the trend in most african countries. The role of ICT in this modern world ought not to be overemphasized. Its indubitable that public service delivery can only be enhanced if we embrace ICT. This is an ‘e-world’ where even 2 years olds have embraced ICT.

  11. We want action not words. changing a name without achievements is nothing.
