SuperSport reported that the 18-year-old had made a big impact in the 12-member division which she joined while the season was in progress in May 2014, quoting her former Lilongwe club DD Sunshine’s director David Dube,

“We as DD Sunshine are very happy because she is a big marketing object for us and her country,” Dube said about Malawi’s first ever women football export to Europe.

Chawinga herself said:“I am very happy to have achieved my goal of being a top scorer. There are now other opportunities for me to go for trials at a top league side in a few days. After the trials, I will return home for off-season break.”.

The women football season ended last week in Sweden with Dvarsatt finishing fourth, thereby missing promotion to the second tier league Norra Svealand. The highest league is called Damallsvenskan and has 12 teams.

The second league has 14 teams. Below the Elitettan, there are six division ones divided in regions in Sweden each comprising 12 teams. Therefore, Dvärsätts plays in division one called Norra Svealand
