Mutharika cancels presidential diary, makes impromptu trip to Blantyre
President Peter Mutharika on Wednesday cancelled his official scheduled engagements in Lilongwe and Salima.
No reasons have been given for the cancellation.
The President was supposed to have a whistle stop tour in some parts of Lilongwe and open a cane factory in Salima.
State controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation said the President would open the sugarcane plant on Monday.
No reasons were given for the cancellation of the official opening on Wednesday.
The President is said to have made an impromptu trip to Blantyre, leaving the State House advance party stranded in Salima.
