Machinga boma moves to Liwonde
Machinga boma is likely to move next year from its current site near Likwenu to Liwonde some 20 kilometres away following the commencement of the construction of offices of the district commissioners offices and other related offices at the township.
District Commissioner for Machinga, Reginard Chavula confirmed the commencement of the K598 million office block which is expected to house all government offices.
“The advantage with this new place is that all government offices will now be under one roof making it a one stop shop,” she said proudly.
She said the current situation is that government offices are scattered with some at Liwonde, most of them at the current site of the boma and agricultural offices 70 kilometres away at Ntaja.

I like this region of mine, Southern, which is development friendly. No wonder freedom fighting as well as civilisation in Malawi stared from the South.
Good move! This makes a lot of sence.
