15 girls register for Miss Lilongwe 2012
At least 15 girls from the capital city have confirmed their participation in this year’s Miss Lilongwe Queen competition, scheduled to take place on 7th December.
The competition’s main organizers, Mates Models (Excite Events), disclosed this in a statement made available to Nyasa Times.
Miss Lilongwe 2012 will be held at Sunbird Capital Hotel and according to the organisers, all is set for the beauty pageant which will see the cream of the capital battling for the city’s beauty crown.
“Each of the girls has vowed to put up their best performance in a quest to grab the crown which is currently held by Cecilia Pereira,” says Mates Models events manager Robert Banda in the statement.
Mates Models have partnered with Lilongwe’s newly established entertainment company, Team X1, to put up the competition aimed at developing modelling among young women in the capital city.
Among others, the contestants are expected to parade in five categories including self-introduction and will go on the ramp in traditional, office, casual and dinner attires.
Meanwhile, the organizers say they have put up a comprehensive package for advertisers and sponsors of the Miss Lilongwe Queen.
“We plan a Media blitz for the advertisers and sponsors to benefit from the programme in terms of marketing their products and services,” says Banda.
There are numerous prizes that will be splashed out to the winners and they include cash, accommodation and meal vouchers, free make-up vouchers, shopping vouchers and trips to be announced towards the event, which will also have an after party at Zanzi.
