Wizards in upset bid against Bullets: FISD Cup
Nyasa Big Bullets will look to maintain their fine form in the FISD Cup when they host Bet Premier Wizards at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 2:30pm.
The Peoples Team had a bumpy trip in their last League games in Mzuzu, when they managed to salvaged 2 points against Moyale Barracks and Mzuni FC. They drew 0-0 in both matches.
The Ndirande township based out-fit are currently holders of the Presidential Cup and they also hoping to defend the league title with another ambition of clinching the Fisd Cup.
In-form striker Collins Nkhulambe is Bullets’s danger man. The former Mzuzu United hit-man has remarkably netted more than three since he joined the club.
Bullets long serving member Fischer Kondowe believes that their victory in the Presidential Cup will help them mount a serious challenge for another cup.
“Our victory in the Presidential Cup have come as a big boost in our Fisd -challenge ambitions in this season,” Kondowe said.
“With the squad we have assembled this season, I’m really optimistic that we will challenge for the FISD Cup this season.”
Meanwhile, Wizards will be looking to avoid another defeat against Bullets in the league when they lock horns infront of a huge crowd which is expected to converge at the soccer mecca.
The Peter Mponda boys were beaten by a spirited Bullets squad in their last meeting in the League.
Wizards coach Peter Mponda said his boys are geared to avoid another defeat against Bullets.
“I think they have certain weaknesses, from what I’ve seen defensively, but they’re always a talented team and they always going to be a threat,” said Mponda.
“I want to win. I need to win. We need to get back to winning ways.”
