Match-play golf tourney in quarter finals

The third round of the 2017 TNM-sponsored Match-Play golf tournament tees off at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) this week with 8 teams ready to tee off.

BSC Golf Captain Sam Mwale said the Match-Play is progressing well as planned.

“We had a field of 101 golfers comprising of ladies men and we are now going into third round after concluding the second round last weekend,” said Mwale.

Mwale said the grand finale is expected to be held on September 16, 2017 with two teams comprising of 2 golfers each will battle it out.

He hailed TNM for the support in this tournament which has been played in a form of a league.

TNM’s Senior Manager – Business Services Limbani Nsapato said the Match-play tournament demonstrates Company’s passion in developing golf in the country.

‘This tournament demonstrates our commitment in a bid to develop golf in the county this also provides us with ideal platform to engage customers on different products and services that TNM offers,” said Nsapato.

“TNM as a Malawian company is always committed to support sporting disciplines in the country and as the company is very happy that the sponsorship to golfing community has lived to its objectives of growing golf in Malawi,” he said.

Out of eight teams competing in the quarter finals only four are expected to proceed for semifinals
