DPP replaces central region governor Josiah-Banda: Kutsaira takes over
As Malawi’s ruling party Democratic Progressive (DPP) continue to make charges in its rank and file ahead of next year’s sticky Tripartite elections, the party has removed its regional governor for the centre, Dean Josiah Banda and replaced him with Bintony Kutsaira.
However, the party has said it has redeployed Josiah to other duties.
Kutsaira, who is former State chief spy, when contacted on phone could not comment on the matter .
“Talk to [Hetherwick] Ntaba or the secretary general of the party,” he said.
DPP secretary general Grezelder Jeffrey wa Jeffrey said she has seen a letter of Kutsaira’s appointment dated March 12 2018 but said could not comment because she was in a place where network is very bad.
“The phone is faint. Let’s talk later so I can comment clearly,” she said.
DPP administrative secretary Francis Mphepo said President Peter Mutharika was Kutsaira to build the party in the central region.
Mphepo said Josiah-Banda has been appointed presidential adviser on political affairs.
Josiah Banda , a business tycoon and former football administrator, took over the regional governor post when he replaced late Eclain Kudontoni who was promoted to be the party’s Secretary general.
Kutsaira has been a political nomad, he first cut his political teeth in Malawi Congress Party (MCP) where he once once served as its member of parliament.
He then joined DPP and defected to Peoples Party when it was in power where he served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture Bintoy before rejoining MCP and now is back to DPP fold.

MCP did not kill anyone, it was MCP leaders. So ask yourself which leaders ordered the murders of the Four. Ask Hetherwick Ntaba of DPP about the killings of MCP. Ask Nicholas Dausi how they used to carry out orders at MYP. Those are the people with mentality to kill. If a Bank Manager steals money from one bank, and goes to work for another bank, it doesn’t mean he has stopped being a thief.

People loved Bingu almost the whole country, that was before he started his games if you heard about him, that was the reason why these places you have mentioned here voted for him, it was not because of this Binton you are talking about here muna. by the way is he an MP? am failing to remember if he made it, anyway that is not the case.
Back to the story, because people loved Bingu, there was another mistake happened that time if you heard about it, the coalition of M.C.P and U.D.F added fire on Bingu pushing him to be loved more than the time Bakili Muluzi chose him.
Therefore people wanted to show that coalition or not coalition, when they love the person, they will vote for him.
Now i said this will happen, Mr Zaya I can challenge you that Malawians are not fools as you think, the Binton knows it well that is why they are trying to join ruling party so that they can have their last meal and or last super. Mr Zaya stop seeing things in a narrow imagination.
People has said a lot when the young Matenjes and Chiwangas joined M.C.P, can we say they dont have the right to join the party they want just because they are young Matenjes and Chiwangas? Prof Peter Mutharika was there as Foreign Affairs Minister and he knows very well the capabilities of Binton hence he has romped him in. No one told us to love Bingu but it was automatic because of the way how he did to Malawians, simukuva pati nanuso? ask your friends, this is not politics but the truth muna. In as long as DPP is recycling its rank and file with tried and tested politicians, it will not make any headway come May 2019. This is an opportunity for DPP to bring in the youth (young blood) that has energy, agility and the ability to appeal to the youth. It is a fact that Malawi over 60% of its voting population is younger than 35 years. Strategically it makes sense to target this segment, if not DPP will win probably with a 15% mandate making it the most hang parliament in the history of Malawi. It will be a nightmare to pass any policy as was the case in the case a few years back. Your UDF alliance partner is losing its support base and therefore cannot be relied upon to bring in the much needed equity or votes. therefore DPP’s hope is the voting-age youth. It is a given that these delinquent and corrupt politicians won’t take DPP anywhere unless the party is seriously pursuing looting of high magnitude; then probably you have the right people in place. However, know that Malawians are now waking up from their slumber albeit slowly. You may just be surprised with the voting patterns come May 2019. Your Excellency Professor Mutharika, you better change your tact otherwise its goodbye state house. Start putting young generation in positions of power and mentor them for greatness and visionary leadership. Its the right to do and you’ll forever thank me for the advice I am giving you for free.
