Mutharika labels Malawi rights group HRDC as terrorist organization: Attacks MCP
President Peter Mutharika has described rights group, the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) as a terrorist organization.

In in his New Year’s message, Mutharika said HRDC organised protests have led to some potential investors turning their back to Malawi, thereby harming the economy.
“HRDC is a political organization which is slowly degenerating into a terrorist organization by terrorizing people,” said Mutharika.
But HRDC chairperson Timothy Mtambo has since dismissed Mutharika’s sentiments, saying the Head of State is out of his mind.
HRDC has been organizing anti-Jane Ansah protests since the highly disputed May 21 tripartite elections, demonstrations HRDC says are aimed at forcing the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Timothy Mtambo resign for the messy elections.
Mutharika called on both the HRDC and opposition leaders to be patriotic by stopping organizing the protests.
Mutharika also attacked the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), saying state violence, oppression and victimization of citizens inhibited people’s participation in the economy.
“With violence, oppression and victimization of the people, we were deliberately creating poverty instead of ending it. You built a good house, and it was taken away from you.
“You made money, and you were killed or sent into exile. You were creative and talented, you had to be punished for it.
He also asked the media to avoid abusing the freedom of expression and freedom of the press by stopping publishing and airing malicious stories.
Not a uniting national address.
Exactly what I expected from a clueless leader, plus minds and brains full of tipex, we had some people with a lot of money during MCP and were never arrested a good number of professors more interigent than this maroon tipex president, after all do not compare one party system and multi party. This is where you miss the point mr tipex. If DPP was rulling by that time how many people would you have killed if you can kill this time? How much would you store if you can steal now when there is check and balance, How nepotistic would have been if you can still do it now. DPP should be the last party to blame MCP for her failures. You store the party from mighty UDF you are nothing but a parasite mr bwampini tipex, if not for your elder brother to steal the party from udf where the hell do think you would have been. Stealing corruption intimadating, fornication and adultery and killing of people wih albinosim is what you no so I say Shut up you tipex leader.
Hrdc is a colatiion of mercenaries who are known for all the wrong reasons. Gay, lesbian, violent demos, rudeness. alshabab in disguise
This man has run out of ideas i guess so
After all you are just an interim president.
interim president, masiku akupita uyu 2020 hehehehehe
These are not words from the father of the nation.
Nyapapi iwe. Just thank a god that ma judge unawasankha aja akupatsa judgement. Some of them have accepted your bribe and we know them. Koma dziwani kuti if your judges take that money outside Malawi especially to Europe, kuli anthu akukudikilani kumeneko mukayaluka. Take it to China where you have laundered all that aid money you stole.
Let’s get one thing clear: HRDC has never harboured a desire to be a political party. It’s just that the acting president is slowly losing his senses and sees everything against his usurped rule as an enemy regardless of the logical advice being offered.
The truth of the matter is that his party, aided by Ansah, stole votes of over 60%+of Malawians to claim a stolen election. It is these aggrieved citizens which the HRDC is leading the protests for. It is common knowledge that DPP has always taken advantage by ordering the so-called cadets to infiltrate the peaciful protests so that they cause mayhem and subsequently accuse MCP and UTM of leading violent protests. Fortunately we have seen through DPP/APM plot. It won’t work.
No wonder the DPP gurus are restless and are trying everything to be good. The damage has been and it’s too late to mend ways.
Stop sulking. Signs of a dying horse
Fix corruption instead of being a cry baby Mr President. The corruption in Malawi stinks and no one does anything about it
Uyu waligawa dzikoli ndipo watinyasa, gogo wotopetsa.

Change is imminent. With change justice follows. ………In 1972 I was a brick layer at Sanjika Palace. I lived in Manyowe. I never dreamed that there will be a person affected with extreme mental retardation living there after the life president.
Kamuzu was very useless. The worst president and dictator. 31 years was longtime to develop Malawi but kamuzu wasted time dancing with mbumba. Very useless old cow that kamuzu
I totally agree with Your Excellency.
So according to Muntharika, all Malawians who remained in Malawi during the MCP regime were not talented, not creative and poor people, all talented, creative and rich people were either sent into exile or killed during MCP……really?
This old senile man ine wandikwana ndithu……when is the rerun coming?
The most useless President we ever had. Even the Grade 6 graduate, Muluzi, had something to offer. This old senile man need not be our leader beyond May.
This new year message was not meant for all Malawians but cadets! A national President uses the opportunity of a National address to unite the people rather than castigate the opposition and label human rights groups as terrorists! What a missed opportunity!!
If you remove the word “Label” it would be a good literature to read. the Question is, is it Yes or No? According to published definitions Terrorist means: 1. a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims
2. unlawfully violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
Therefore probably the President of the Republic of Malawi was not labelling, he merely stated the proper classification of these groupings as per their deeds..
And one claims to be president for all when the bigger society or grouping is being rejected by your Tribal Grouping by amongst other things inflicting so much pain, killing, torching of their houses, chasing them to go home etc. This fits the definitions above and Malawi is not prepared for this. We need the aid now flowing into the country for developments.
HRDC and MCP are indeed terrorist agents. They organized political demonstrations in Malawi aiming at taking up a legitimate government by force but they failed. They were hiding behind Jane Ansah and yet the major aim was to destabilize DPP led government. Shame on Mtambo Burundian and Arafat lero onse aphwa tsopano kusowa chonena. APM carry on with your development agenda achite manyazi Lazaro and company
AWA KWATSALAKU NKUTI TIMVE KUTI ATISIYA. SI MAGURU ONYEREDWA AWA.
Not out of his mind….But too old to understand what Malawian needs as of today.
No surprise for one who lives in a bubble called blue utopia. The misguided old man is out of touch with realities on the ground, only inclined to the den thieves who practice impunity.
Nkhani yakula apa ndi Nsanje! Achewa ndi adyera kwambiri komanso umbombo! Chonsecho boma linakukanikani, mmangopha wanthu!

Malawi is 6th poorest country in the world, and you’re ranting about DPP failed policies & broad day light thuggery of den of thieves. You’ve showed already you’re tribal in your commentary, Malawi is for all Malawians not one tribe. You’re following the blind who’ll only lead you to a bottomless pit. APM is only a reactionary leader who’ll overlooks essential things like rule of law and governance. You’ve failed to transform Malawi, and it’s time you let servant leaders rule Malawi with equitable leadership.
Yikuti chani kodi nkhalambayi?
Kkkkk. He has his own history of Malawi
The man is clearly senile.
