Police arrest mobile money scammers

Police in Lilongwe on Wednesday arrested two men on allegations that they swindled people of K6 million from their mobile money accounts.
One of the suspects is an employee of TNM-Crossroads service center.
He is Mustafa Timothy Misolo, 26, and his accomplice is Phonex Afiki, 32, is a resident of area 23.
A statement signed by Lilongwe police spokesperson, Foster Benjamin, says so far they are handling complaints from six people that the two may have duped.
Our police sources say from three file reviews so far, over K6m was allegedly swindled.
The source has linked the suspects to a syndicate of supply of mobile sim-cards to inmates at Zomba maximum security prison.
