Fischer Kondowe denies rumours about entry into politics
Big Bullets Captain Fischer Anong’a Kondowe has denied speculations on social media that he wants to contest as independent Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South Constituency.
A Facebook page called ‘Malawi Breaking News and Gossip’ on Friday posted that constituents in Blantyre City South have persuaded Kondowe to run as their MP in the forthcoming elections.
But Kondowe in an interview with Nyasa Times said people should treat the issue as “mere gossip.”
“There is no grain of truth whatsoever. I am not joining politics. I am a footballer through and through,” he said.
“Treat that as gossip on social media, yeah man. There is no truth at all,” he said.
He said that all the speculations were sociam media-made and he will not be joining politics as he is currently busy and happy with his career as a footballer.
