Gaba, Mzava will be available for Malawi in 2nd leg against Benin
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has confirmed that Flames defender players Limbikani Mzava and striker Gabadinho Mhango will feature in the second leg of the 2015 last qualifying game of the preliminary round against Benin.
This follows a meeting that Fam Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Suzgo Nyirenda held with the players club Bloemfontein Celtic on Thursday in South Africa on Thursday.
According to a statement posted on Fam website on Thursday, the Fam C.E.O had a fruitful meeting with Celtic.
The meeting took place at Bloemfontein Technical Centre and was attended by the Club’s CEO, the Head Coach and the new owners of the club.
The lengthy discussions also centred on the reasons why the club did not release the players and I had to plead with the Coach to seriously consider releasing the players after their MTN Top 8 match against Bidvest on Friday 1st August.
“I would like to inform you that I have successfully negotiated for the release of Limbikani Mzava and Gabadinho Frank Mhango to play for the Malawi National Team during the return match against Benin in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers,” read part of the statement.
Nyirenda in the statement revealed It was not easy but through God’s intervention the Coach accepted and described the development as a sigh of relief.
The players will travel to Malawi on Saturday 2nd August and will return back their club on Monday 4th August.
Meanwhile, the availability of Atusaye Nyondo who is yet to get his work permit remains hanging.
