Sumbuleta confirmed Malawi Broadcasting Corp boss, Mungomo now director
The board of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has approved ormer spokesman of Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) Aubrey Sumbuleta to be director general of MBC.
Sumbuleta has been acting in the post since Benson Tembo was removed and deployed to Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra).
The board has also approved Albert Mungomo as director of programmes a position which he replaced Hamilton Chimala.
Other confirmations were about Aideni Gumeni as director of engineering (formerly occupied by Joseph Chingwa) and Geoffrey Kazembe as director of news, a post which was for Wellington Kuntaja, before he was re-deployed.
The MBC board also confirmed four posts of Controllers.
They include Chimbizga Msimuko – Regional Controller North Malawi, Steve Maseya as Controller of programmes TV, Mgeme Kalirani controller of news MBC TV and Vincent Khonyongwa controller of news MBC radio.

Who cares! We stopped watching TVM or listening to MBC many years nthawi ya Bingu. Zodiak is our radio for news, Matindi for bwalo la alakatuli and sports, Star Radio for the English Premier league and ife a ku Bt its Times TV for local televesion. After all that, then we go to GOTV to watch the rest of the international TV.
MBC is just a propaganda mill for the ruling party of the day since the times of UDF, DPP and Bingu, JB and now DPP and Peter. That will never change until the policy of the public broadcaster is completely overhauled into a new Communications Act. As of now, its not a public broadcaster but a ruling party broadcaster.

Very gender insensitive. MBC has women who have some reasonable education who could fill some of these posts. Their management team is like a seminary or a Muslim graveyard: only men allowed.
We once had Emma Kaliya , Emmie Chanika, Seodi etc who could have fought for the representation of women in management. I guess they are now retired, frustrated!!!!
