Escom leads TNM race, Embangweni on knife edge
As the battle rages on in the elite TNM Super League, Escom United is leading on the summit table with Embangweni United still stuck on the relegation zone.
The Electricians, who won against Blantyre United last Sunday have 41 points with Silver Strikers chasing them with 38 points.
On third place is Civo United with 36 points. The Civil Servants failed to overtake the Bankers on the second place after losing to Embangweni United 1-0 on Saturday.
On fourth place is Mighty ‘Nyerere’ Wanderers with 36 points after defeating their rivals Big Bullets 2-1 on Sunday.
Epac United also known as ‘Njenjete zapa Lilongwe’ have 36 points as well occupying position five with ‘Mphembedzu zamu Mzinda wa Blantyre’ Blantyre United chasing them closely having accumulated 35 points.
On position seven are Salima based soldiers Mafco FC with 33 points with Big Bullets cruising closely on eight slot with 32 points.
Azam Tigers, who defeated Standard Bank champions Blue Eagles 4-1 are basking on position nine with 31 points as the Zomba city based giants Red Lions have 30 points.
Blue Eagles have 29 points on eleventh positiont with Moyale Barracks on their back having accumulated 28 points.
However, the three sides on the knife edge of the relegation zone are Cobbe barracks with 24 points, Zomba United and Embangweni United 19 points respectively.
