Accept Jesus and get out of Lo-debar
t is God’s desire that all men should come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, but most of the times we do not pay attention to allow God work with our lives.
There is no merit in any of us that would warrant the kindness and goodness of God, but it’s all done because of what Jesus did on the Cross. It was done once when Jesus said “It is finished” which brings us into the new covenant which will never be changed because it was done once and for all.
This covenant is the same as the covenant that Jonathan made with David which made David remember his covenant with Jonathan, even after Jonathan was dead for many years. “Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” (II Samuel 9). At this time, Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth was the only one left, crippled and living in Lo-debar.
Lo-Debar means the desert place which is where all those that are not saved are. Mephibosheth’s condition presents to us our spiritual condition before coming to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
Remember that the desert is dry without any food or water. Food represents the word of God while water represents the Holy Spirit. But David because of the covenant that existed between him and David, sent and fetched him out of Lo-debar, showed him kindness, restored all the land, and to eat bread at David’s table continually all for Jonathan’s sake.
God want to have the same type of fellowship with those that confess Jesus Christ as their personal savior because of the new covenant in order to restore all that has been lost to the enemy, and also eat at the same table with Him continually.
All I am saying is that; you have been in Lo-debar for too long. It is time to accept Jesus Christ so that you can get out of that place. Jesus is waiting to have fellowship with us if only you can accept Him as your personal Savior today. “We no longer have enough time yet we do not know what hour the Lord will come” (Matthew 24:42).
