Actor Jacobs Mwase dead, tributes pour in
One of the country’s leading comedian and movie maker, Jacobs Mwase has passed away, it has been confirmed.
Mwase passed away at Thyolo District Hospital where he was hospitalised.
His wife confirmed to the media the death of the man behind the local movie, Moyo released in 2012.
Mwase popularly known as Zakaria was an accomplished actor who featured in several television, radio and stage plays including Tikuferanji.
At a time of his death Mwase was working on another movie Palibe Chinsisi.
Commenting on his death, one of teh actors Waliko Makhala said: “Yet another cultural tragedy! sad. sad. May his soul rest in peace.”
Musician Master Tongole wrote: ” Not good at all why talented ones gone like this? RIP.”
Mwase is second comedian the country has lost this year following the death of John Izeki Nyanga who died several months ago.
Mwase’s burial details are yet to be released.
