Organisers of RVK Africa Fashion festival have announced that model casting will take place on 10 September at N1 Bar N Grill ahead of the main showdown scheduled for 25 and 26 November at BICC in Lilongwe.
The event which will also attract designers from across Africa held model castings in South Africa at State Theatre, Pretoria and Ghana at Movenpick Hotel on 26 and 27 August respectively.
According to the organisers, the Malawi model casting kicks off at 10am to 2pm and would-be participants can contact Lush Events.
So far, some of the designers earmarked to showcase at the event include Lilly Alfonso (Malawi), Nicole Rob (Botswana), Stanley Nkwane (South Africa), Sanah (Zimbabwe), Lulu Makawa (Malawi) and Esnarth Nkosi (South Africa).
Stanley Nkwane is a professional fashion designer and tailor with six years’ experience. He studied fashion at Tshwane North College and did an internship and gained experience with popular designer (brand) SKORZCH.
Lulu Makawa is a self-taught fashion designer and tailor, she has managed to create a strong reputation and household name when it comes to dressing bride maids and brides and grooms in Malawi. Her outfits are of red carpet material to everyday wear.
She is an expert in Afro wear with fusing it to modern trendy styles. She has dressed a number of artists for their performances. She showcased at the Lilongwe Motor Show in May 2016 and at the Fashion United fundraising event in August,
From South Africa Esnarth Nkosi will also be showcasing whereas Gazbo will represent Swaziland.
