The deceased, Dennis Chauluka, was an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer who had just finished his training on January 6 and, according to Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) Police Spokesperson, Sgt. Sapulain Chitonde, Chauluka was pending his transfer to work at Mzuzu Airport.

He said Chauluka had a record of epilepsy and according to his neighbours he was last seen on Saturday, January 7.

The ADL engineer left no suicide note and postmortem conducted by Lumbadzi health officials revealed that death was due to suffocation, according to Chitonde.

Other sources claimed that Chauluka (33) had “some differences with his wife and he had been staying alone”.

He hailed from Ndaone Village, Traditional Authority Nsabwe in Thyolo district and he is survived by a wife and a baby girl, according to Chitonde.
