Admarc Cashier arrested over K11m fraud

A cashier at grain markertor Admarc, Chrispin Mangwiro, 28, has been arrested for allegedly misappropriating K11, 143, 697 and forged financial documents between June, 2012 and July, 2013 at Liwonde depot of Admarc.

Police Public Relations Officer, Constable Andrew Mayawo confirmed the arrest of Mangwiro after he handed himself over to police at Liwonde in the district Tuesday this week.

Mangwiro handed himself to police in the company of his lawyer, according to the police publicist who added that Admarc internal Auditors discovered the misappropriation and forgery after an audit at Liwonde Admarc.

Admarc reported the matter to Liwonde Police in February this year as the suspect was on the run till Tuesday.

According to Machinga Police, the misappropriated cash was from sales of general produce for the 2012/2013 season.

Mangwiro will answer  two charges thus Theft by Public Servant which is contrary to section 286 of the penal code and Forgery, contrary to section 56 of the penal code.
