Airte Malawi spreads festive cheer to children of Chikondi and Mphatso Orphan Care Centre

In the spirit of giving and celebrating the festive season Airtel Malawi and its employees treated over 125 children to a sumptuous festive gathering.

 The 125 children under the care of Chikondi and Mphatso Orphan Care Centre in area 25, Lilongwe, were treated to a mouthwatering buffet lunch complete with cake for dessert and also received assorted gifts which comprised school bags, clothes and drinking bottles from Airtel employees donning their flagship #AirtelTouchingLives t-shirts.

 Airtel’s Corporate Communications and CSR Manager Norah Chavula-Chirwa said the company every December, always treats children from any of the 3 regions to a festive party and this year, children from Chikondi and Mphatso Orphan Centre were recipients of their festive cheer.

 “It is exciting to spend this festive celebration with the kids. As a caring brand, our interaction with them carries a lot of meaning and as you can see from the children’s happy faces, this event has fulfilled our intended purpose,” she narrated.

 Apart from spoiling the children, Airtel Malawi also donated 30 bags of rice, sugar, beans, 40 bottles of 5litre cooking oil, bales of sugar, soya pieces and salt among others to the orphanage to assist in its operations.
