Airtel donates computer equipment to Namitete Technical College

Principal of Namitete Technical College in the rural west of the capital city Lilongwe, Chakufwa Mkandawire, and the entire College management, have hailed the giant telecommunications company Airtel Malawi for donating to the institution the  HP Intel model computers and Internet connection dongles wealth  K2.5million.

Speaking during the handover ceremony at the college, Airtel network director, Hussein Versi said the company decided to donate the computers after learning that the school had no computers.

He said as part of Airtel corporate responsibility program, they decided to help the school.

“Today Airtel is here to donate eight brand new desktop computers to Namitete Technical College and eight dongles to be used by the students,” said Versi.

Apart from the dongle and computers,  Airtel will be giving a 1 GB Data for the next 3 months.

Airtel has over the past year continued to reach out and support various primary secondary and tertiary institutions across the country with desks, school books and other education materials.

Namitete Principal promised that his college will take care of the computers.
