Airtel Malawi creates double excitement in Luchenza

There was a wild celebration in Luchenza on Friday as the leading mobile service provider Airtel opened a new Airtel Express Shop, and donated medical equipment worth K2.6 million to Chonde Health Centre.

It all started with the company showing compassion and love to people of Luchenza by donating various medical items which included delivery beds and oxygen concentrators to Chonde Health Centre.

Airtel Zonal Business manager, Leslie Tsilizani said that the items would guarantee that patients stay at their centre was comfortable and dignified.

“When we heard of the challenges patients faced at Chonde Health Centre, we made it a priority to respond, by coming to cheer the sick and donating items that will alleviate the sufferings of the patients,” he said.

He said their donation will ensure that patients have a comfortable and dignified stay at the health centre.

“These items that Airtel has donated will further assist the warm and kind heartened staff of Chonde Health centre to nurse the patients to a quick recovery,” said Tsilizani.

He said as Airtel they believe that a healthy people are a happy people.

The day climaxed when Airtel opened the Airtel Express Shop. The Shop which was designed to make Airtel’s services more accessible to its customers drew hundreds of excited on lookers.

Airtel Malawi Director of Enterprise Rachel Mijiga said the Express Shop will not only allow customers easy access to all their services and products, but will also help spur economic activity in Luchenza.

“Customers will be able to access Airtel Money services, purchase airtime and handsets, replace Sim cards,” she said.

The shop will also allow customers to connect to Airtel internet on their mobile devices, as it will offer an Airtel data experience zone with free wifi, and of course customers will get assistance from Airtel customer services.

“The Luchenza Airtel Express shop is proof that we have our customers best interest at heart, because all their mobile telecommunication needs are now conveniently situated in one place,” said Mijiga.

Recently, Airtel Malawi has opened a number of Express shops like in Kasungu, Karonga, Mzuzu, Mangochi and Zomba.

Speaking on behalf of Luchenza residents, Mayor Councillor Kaliwo described the arrival of the Express shop as perfectly timed, as more people in Luchenza are using Airtel network.

Big up Airtel for donation of drugs. You will save some lives. This country is run by headless chickens with no direction. They deny that health care is in disarray.
