With so much funand entertainment on the cards, leading mobile telecommunications operator Airtel Malawi says it is posed to add extra sensational spice to the festival.

Airtel, a key sponsor of the 2015 LoS, has since disclosed that a great number of give away surprises and activities are on the menu.

“We are set and ready to fire up this year’s festival. As a matter of fact we have lined up some fun activities and shall give lots of branded materials and other extras just to maximise the hype,” said Airtel’s Brand and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika.

Kachinjika further disclosed that they have also taken advantage of this festival to engage further with their customers, “We have invited 30 of our high value customers to take part in the festivities this weekend. We also ran a small promotion to give a chance to 10 of our customers to attend the festival with their loved ones.”

Airtel Malawi sponsored this year’s version of Lake of Stars to the tune of MK11 million. Among other things Airtel customers were priviledged to buy LoS admission tickets at a subsidized rate using Airtel Money.

Airtel will also have a wifi hotspot so that patrons attending the festival can experience its fast speed internet connection throughout.

The festival, billed as one of the biggest on the continent, has attracted lots of local and international artists and will run throughout this weekend.

Our lake will no longer be the same after this festival. It will not be safe and healthy when all these people pee and wee in our fresh waters over the weekend. Everyone who has swum will agree with me that peeing and weeing in water is a common practice. The Ministry of Health should get a court injunction against this unhealthy event.
