All systems go for ‘sell- out’ Malawi Achievers Awards UK

It’s that time of the year for the glamourous night, the ‘Malawi oscars’ as the Malawi Association UK, organisers of the Malawi Achievers Awards, have said that its all system go for the seelout grand showcase of the second edition of the awards set for this Saturday March 28.awards flyer

The event will take off with a star-studded line up of artists to perform at the magnificent Athena Hall in Leicester city.

Awards project director Felix Banda told Nyasa Times that it has been a sell out tickets affair for the night of glamour – the second edition of the red carpet affair – for Malawians in UK and friends of Malawi.

“We have sold our tickets. There will be no sell of tickets at the venue. Late comers can get in touch with organiser by end of Friday to check those who booked tickets and will fail to attend to buy them,” Banda said,

He said the artists expected to perform include Sean Focus, Brave Mnyayi, Ireland-based Pop Dogg, Dot and Darrel from Zimbabwe, and South African female artist Lungo.

The awards PR Director, Thom Twee, said the Malawi Achievers Awards is a landmark occasion and that the second edition will be full of pomp, with an after party at same venue up to the wee hours.

He said the organisers promised to deliver “a first-rate and superb experience” for the patrons’ value for their three course buffet dinner meal and entertainment.

“It will be a Malawi night full of fun and the joy,” he said.

Malawi Achievers Awards UK, whose aim is to celebrate and recognise outstanding Malawian individuals and groups in the UK for their exceptional achievements and contributions to their respective communities both in the UK and in Malawi, is a project of Malawi Association UK (MAUK), an umbrella body for all Malawians in the UK.

It is a family event that will accommodate children and will start at 6:00pm prompt and will run through to 24:00 hours and thereafter there will be an after-party at same venue.

No 1 comment is from an ignorant uneducatedperson! Please a Malawi do not show your ignorance. Even in Malawi people go to parties. The ignorance of it all makes one cringe! This event takes place once a year and it is for a good cause. Malawians in UK let us enjoy this event. We all love Malawi!
