Alleged Mphwiyo shooter arrested for armed robbery

Malawi Police in Mangochi have arrested Robert Kadzuwa – one of the suspects who was earlier arrested in connection with the attempted murger of former budget director Paul Mphwiyo – in connection with a spate of armed robberies in the lakeshore sdistrict.

Kadzuwa,33 comes from Lowa Village, Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje.

Inspector Kondwani Ntchawaka said Kadzuwa, whose bail in Mphwiyo’s case was revoked this week, is suspected to have robbed two houses separately and went away with goods worth K2 million.

“I can confirm that Kadzuwa has been arrested alongside other four suspects for armed robberies”, said Ntchawaka

He said the suspects are alleged to have robbed a Mr Nazil Hessen Quaral’s house and went away with $500 and other assorted electronic gadgets valued at over K1 million and on the night of 1st March, the
suspects armed with dangerous weapon attacked a hpuse belonging to Fatuma M’bwana and stole K185 000 cash and other items valued at K718 000.

One of the suspects James Banda of Mchiramwera Village in the area of T/A Mchiramwera in Thyolo pleaded quilty while the court has set 26 March as the day it will hear the armed robbery case for Kadzuwa and
the other two suspects.

The other suspects are 21 year old Ben Magwira of Makwira village, T/A Mulumbe in Zomba and Dyson Manuel 35 years, of Chipusile village, T/A Kwataine in Ntcheu

  30. The problem in Malawi is that people from southern region are in majority. And these people in majority are robbers, murderers and superstitious. Most disgraceful tribes are southern regions.

    This is due to low education levels. Most of them are mbuli mapeto.
    Their thinking is always disastrous, pure evil and rarely correct.

    Avoid them if possible. Can’t have a friend from the south who is not a theif.
