Armstrong celebrates Christmas with Blantyre fans in style

Just like a glittering star that heralded the birth of Christ, one emerging R&B star, Armstrong on Christmas Day marked his return to stardom with a launch of his debut album, Ndele in Blantyre.

After its premiere in Lilongwe, Blantyre music fans ceased their opportunity to sample out the singer’s 14-track album ‘Ndele’ in a well patronized show at Shire Highlands Hotel.

‘Ndele’, a love dosage, is released months after the artist had launched a pure RnB mix-tape titled ‘BrB’ following the release of two Chichewa singles, ‘Sinditha Kumvetsa’ and ‘Ndamusowa’ that heralded his career on the local scene.

‘Sinditha Kumvetsa’ was followed by a video which, just in months, has hit over 8,000 views on the youTube, beating a record set by other local urban artists’ music videos.

Despite the Lilongwe show being described as successful, the one on Tuesday, tells a different story, the patronage and performances were one assurance every artist would dream of.

“It was fantastic in Lilongwe, but home is always best. I enjoyed the show and appreciate how the fans came out to support me,” commented Armstrong just after the show.

The show proved that the 23-year old is gradually maturing musically as his stage act was not disappointing at all as he ably balanced the vocal range and stage energy while swaying the crowd with a scintillating performance.

He gave out some songs from ‘Ndele’ album as well as the ‘BrB’ mix-tape that included ‘Ndekha’, ‘Ulendo’, ‘Cabinet Yanga’, ‘Ugwire Mtima’, ‘Without Your Love’, ‘Hey Shawty’, but the epic of them all were, ‘Ndamusowa’ and ‘Sinditha Kumvetsa’ which left the audience with no option but to take it to the dance floor with merriments of sing-along.

The show was curtain-raised by other urban artists in the likes of Yesaya, Fredokiss, label-mates, Piksy, Trumel and Biriwiri, Daredevils as well as Kapirintiya’s Shadre and the dancehall darling, Blakjak who just like the other curtain-raisers turn on in the act to put up what will be scribed as superb and commanding stage performance.

Armstrong’s ‘Ndele’ album is already on the market with now latest singles ‘Ndekha’ and ‘Cabinet Yanga’, a song he features Piksy, already promising to be one of biggest hits in the year coming.
