Armstrong unveils ‘Ndele’ album in style

Upcoming Afro R&B star Armstrong Kalua finally launched his long awaited “Ndele” album at a colourful event held at the Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe on Sunday afternoon.

The show which registered a fair and impressive patronage despite having a number of other big musical shows in the capital city including that of top musician  Lucious Banda and Makhirikhiri who were performing at the Lilongwe Golf Club.

Before Armstrong took to the stage for the official launch of his album, a lot of other artists including the Turmel, Nyau King Tay Grin, Biriwiri, Skeffa Chimoto, Malawi’s Queen of Ragga Wendy Harawa performed.

Harawa did a number of songs including her popular hits Unalonjeza and Sindilichoncho. Her dancing antics sent the whole audience gathered inside Marquee ablaze.

She later left the stage paving way to Biriwiri crew who also did well and attracted positive noise from the crowd more especially when they begun to sing their famous track Daily.

Armstrong performing in Lilongwe

Tay Grin was also a marvel to watch after taking over the stage.

He sang a number of songs including Moto and Animal but it was the hit Two by Two which sent almost everyone inside the Marquee into toes.

Another Nde’feyo kid Piksy also came on stage to do what he knows his best and never disappointed the fans apart from continuing from where Grin had left.

Piksy who launched his brand new album Maso recently also ditched out a number of songs including Moto, Ponya Mwendo and Unamata.

Skeffa Chimoto also kept the fire burning when he performed some of his popular tracks including Thandi and Ndamusowa.

Then came a moment everyone had been waiting for when Armstrong was invited into the stage.
Armstrong of the Nde’feyo Entertainment music label, dressed in dark silver suit, orange shirt and brown sneakers, performed only four songs from the 14 track album.

His performance was so amazing and the patrons gave him a positive response as they kept on dancing to his tunes enthusiastically throughout the moments he spent on stage.

He performed a number of songs but it was the famous hit Ndamusowa which ultimately mesmerised the fans who could not resist but to sing along.

Reactions

Speaking in an interview with Nyasa Times after the show, Armstrong was full of praises to the Lilongwe fans and the artists who supported him.

“I am so happy with everything that has happened here and I thank the Lord for this day. Let me also salute the fans from Lilongwe for their wonderful support not forgetting all the artists who came here to support me. This is the best day of my life” he said.

Armstrong who started his music career as a dancer in a gospel group called God Soldiers (G-Soldiers) promised his fans that there is a lot of good stuff coming ahead.

“There is a lot of good stuff coming ahead so I am just urging all my fans to continue supporting me” said Armstrong adding that similar shows will be taken to northern region particularly Mzuzu.

Nde’feyo Entertainment signed Armstrong in 2011.
