The second game of the group saw Zanzibar play out a goalless draw with Eritrea.
Malawi’s next game against Eritrea will be played on Thursday November 29.
Malawi is the only guest team considered for this year’s edition.
The Flames have in their appearances as Cecafa guests never gone past the quarter final stage.
