Malawi President receives new envoys from Italy, France and Mozambique
President Joyce Banda on Monday received credentials from three new ambassadors who will represent their countries in Malawi.
The envoys are from Mozambique, Italy and France.
Speaking to journalists at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe, Mozambican High Commissioner-Designate, Maria Tivane Mate said the two countries have been in good relationship since they got independence.
“Malawi and Mozambique are enjoying brotherly relationship hence my coming will strengthen our long time friendship,” Mate said.
Pier Mario Dacco, Italy Ambassador Designate expressed his gratitude to Malawi government for cordial relationship that has existed between his country and Malawi.

He said presentation of letter of credentials to President Banda is a clear testimony that these two countries have been in good terms, adding that this would enhance promotion of trade especially in the agriculture sector.
“Our country has been in good terms with Malawi and as such we would like to promote trade between these two nations more especially in the agriculture sector,” Dacco said.
During the day, France Ambassador Designate- Marie Annick Bourdin also presented her letter of credentials.
On Tuesday, many other Ambassadors-Designate are expected their letters of credentials. These will include Ambassadors from Switzerland, Israel, Belgium and Slovakia.
