Axa Bus starts servicing Harare, Joburg route

Taking heed of calls to earn Malawi more forex and as an innovative way to offer a Malawian means of travelling by road, Axa Coach Service has introduced a service to Harare.

The company said the new service will be complimented by another one to Joburg which will be provided in partnership with Intercape.

“We will be leaving Harare and Blantyre every morning all week round except on Saturday and we will be making stop-overs at Tete in Mozambique which is the first for businesspersons interested in the economic boom in Tete,” says a statement from Axa management.

They say for those leaving from Harare they will be paying $50 while those leaving from Blantyre will pay K9,000.

“This service is effective from December 15 and we will be using our Deluxe coaches to prolong our values of being punctual, reliable, friendly and comfortable,” Axa says.

Axa Coach Service started its services in 2006 but is encountering competition from government run National Bus Company.

This year the company went through two major accidents as one of its coaches was set ablaze in Lilongwe and early this month another coach was involved in a fateful accident with another coach from National Bus Company.
