The gathering was hosted in collaboration with the globally renowned law firm Mischon de Reya at its aptly named Africa House office in London.

The event was attended by over 200 guests with a key interest in the development of the continent.

The partnership will be overseen by South African and Invest Africa founder Rob Hersov, the Nigerian former CEO of EcoBank, honorary BCA president Arnold Ekpe. Karen Taylor will lead the new alliance as CEO.

Taylor said:“Together the Business Council for Africa and Invest Africa will be the leading platform for business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs doing business in Africa. It is today, the largest African focused private sector trade and investment network.”

James Woods-Nkhutabasa who serves as a Malawi Country Director and Advisor for the organisation said: “The narrative of a rising Africa is long gone, it has risen. Africa is home to many of the world’s fastest growing economies.

“What is required is good governance, accountability and collaboration to really see the fruits of our continent. This partnership is definitely a giant step in the right direction.’’

He added further: “Businesses in Malawi and Africa as whole should utilize the platforms that these two organisations have created to foster a nature of collaboration and sharing of business ideas to drive trade and investment.’’
