Bishops Msusa, Stima to be consecrated in February

Bishops Thomas Msusa and Montfort Stima will be consecrated Archbishop of Blantyre Archdiocese and Bishop for Mangochi respectively in February next year.

Bishop Msusa is currently heading Zomba diocese while Stima is Auxiliary Bishop for Blantyre Archdiocese.

Msusa will be the first one to be consecrated on February 8 2014 at the heart of Blantyre Archdiocese thus Limbe Cathedral where the seat, also called cathedra, of the bishop is.

According to Blantyre Archdiocese Pastoral Secretary, Fr. Alfred Chaima, Bishop Stima will bid farewell to the flock of the Blantyre Archdiocese on January 18 2014 and get consecrated on February 22 at the heart of Mangochi diocese thus St. Augustine Cathedral.

Pope Francis appointed Bishop Msusa Archbishop for Blantyre on November 21 2013 transferring him from Zomba diocese which has now fallen vacant and days later appointed Bishop Stima.

Bishop Stima is the second bishop to have come from Neno parish. The first one was Bishop Allan Chamgwera who was bishop for Zomba and is now retired.
