Blue Eagles sisters crowned champions for Lilongwe
Blue Eagles sisters, were on Saturday deservedly crowned champions of the Lilongwe and District Netball league after edging arch rivals Civo nets by 45-22 baskets, in a match played at Kamuzu Institute for Sports.
Coach Samuel Kanyenda trusted the services of Dalitso Thengo, Enifa Ntukule, Cecilia Ntukule, and Joyce Mvula as shooters. Gertrude Mwandila, Jane Chimalilo, Patricia Gondwe, and Beauty Nyangulu provided fireworks with beautiful passes.
Joyce Nvula showed the nation that she indeed deserves a place in the Malawi Queens by out playing Civo nets with most of the baskets scored by her.
The combination of Rose Chinyama, Lizzie Nyirenda and Enifa Mtukule provided excellent passes that saw Joyce scoring more baskets.
“I think my girls worked hard and they deserve all the credits of being champions ,” Kanyenda said
While Connis Mhone said Blue Eagles deserved to be title contenders but warned that they will be back to give them a good run.
The league’s general secretary Zachariah Kasakula said despite some hiccups, it was a good season.
