Boltsalt netball finals on Saturday

All is set for the K8 million Boltsalt  Southern Region  netball  league  finals scheduled to take place from 16 and 17 November 2019 at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Charity Gondwe: All set

Southern Region Netball League General Secretary, Charity Gondwe said they expect 12 teams representing each district in the region.

“The games will start on Saturday to Sunday  from 8am on both days. As per the structure of the league, each district will  bring one winner to compete at regional level,” said Gondwe.

She also urged netball teams in the Rainbow Paints to come and unearth hidden talents from the participating teams.

Gondwe also said so far  the league has served its purpose of unearthing raw talent.

She said Malawi Queens  has several players who are ageing and need youngsters to take over.

“There is need to invest in developmental structures if we are to remain competitive in the game and Boltsalt is here to do that.Come Saturday we urge Malawians to patrionise the finals and appreciate talent,” Gondwe said.

Some K500 000 has been set aside for the champions while runners-up and the third-placed team would get K300 000 and K200 000.

During the launch of the league in April the sponsors, Netrade Marketing Manager, Murray Evans said the aim of the sponsorship was to promote the game of netball at all levels.

He emphasized that  the sponsorship would create awareness of Botsalt brand, create a platform for young players to showcase skills and also grow the SRNL brand.

Netrade is an international trading company specializing in the distribution of Botsalt, Africa’s premier salt brand and Botsalt is a product of the Botswana Ash Company.

Botsalt is marketed and distributed in Malawi by Rab Processors Limited, Kulima Gold, Agora and AWS Trading.

The following teams qualified for the finals; Nsanje (Sena Sisters), Neno (Lisungwi Sisters), Mulanje (Lujeri Sisters), Chikhwawa (Young Queens),

Thyolo (Spark Sisters), Balaka (Admarc Sisters),Phalombe (Phalombe Eagles ),Blantyre (Kukoma Youth),Zomba (Airwing), Chiradzulu (Chiradzulu sisters),Machinga (Liwonde Sisters), Mangochi (Maline Queens).
