Brazil, India present letters of credence to Malawi leader

Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Brazil Gustavo Martins Noguiera and Vanlalhuma High Commissioner of the Republic of India on Tuesday presented their letters of credence to Malawi President Dr Joyce Banda .

Speaking after presenting the letters of Credence to President Banda, Ambassador designate of Brazil Noguiera says he is happy that Brazil for the first time in history, is opening an embassy in the country

Noguiera says the opening of the embassy in Malawi signifies the commitment that Brazil has in helping to develop the southern African nation.

“Having an embassy in the country will ensure that there is increased trade between the two countries,” he said, adding that the country will help in providing technical support and expertise in Agriculture.

Speaking to reporters after presenting his letters of credence, Ambassador Vanlalhuma said his country is willing to help develop rural areas by establishing business to rural women.

He said India had long standing relations with Malawi, which he said would be further strengthened.
