Bullets claim 2-0 win over Evirom: Malawi TNM Super League

A well-oiled Big Bullets claimed a hard-fought 2-0 over Envirom FC in the TNM Super League encounter on Saturday at the Kamuzu Stadium adding woes to new rookies in the league who are drawing closer to the relegation zone.

Diverson ‘Agogo’ Mlozi was hero for the Peoples Team as he had a brace to the satisfaction of the Bullets supporters.

Both teams made conservative starts before resurrected Mlozi delivered his signature statement with two goals in the second half.

However, Bullets could have notched more than three goals in the first half but Henry Kabichi and Mlozi missed twice with the yawning goal.

A stunning three-pointer from outside the danger zone by Kabichi on the stroke of the first break could have resulted into a goal but his shot went wide.

Tenacious team defence from George Nyirenda and Sankhani Mkandawire was a marvel to watch as thy tamed Evirom dangerman Harold Zulu, no wonder Evirom coach Mario Gadaga had no choice rather than substituting him for Chikondi Mpulula.

It was Dalitso Sailesi who made life difficult for Evirom defence with his zig-zag runnings. Dazzling with the speed, accuracy and creativity on attack, Sailesi combined well with Mlozi.

The growing combination between Sailesi and Mlozi was evident as the pair continued the Peoples team’ assault during the second when he assisted Mlozi notching the two important goals.

Gadaga was at pains after the last whistle as he conceded they are on the knife edge to fight relegation.

“Bullets were better than us. All in all we will soldier on until the last game but this result has left us on uncomfortable position of facing relegation,” said Gadaga.

His opposite member for Big Bullets Gerald Phiri described their victory as a good sign to challenge the title.
