Bullets give coaches ‘treble’ target in 2015
Bullets FC Excecutive Committee has set a target of winning three major competitions in the coming 2015-16 soccer season to its newly restructured technical panel.
The champions have appointed Burundian Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan as its head coach assisted by Lloyd Nkhwazi and Elia Kananji while Billy Tewesa will maintain his position as Technical Director.
The team general secretary Harold Fote confirmed that his team intends to win a lot more silverwares.
“Since we will be fighting for honours in five competitions, the minimum expectation is that the coaching panel led by Ramadhan should win three out of the five trophies,” said Fote.
Bullets will be participating in four local competitions namely Standard Bank Cup, Carlsberg Cup, Presidential Cup, TNM Super League and the continental showpiece Caf Club Championship competition.
According to Fote, the future of the coaches at Bullets will be determined by the results.
“At the end of the season we will sit down with the coaches to see if they have reached the targets and have done enough to have their contracts renewed” he said.
Ramadhan who last season played an advisory role at Bullets has replaced Kananji who guided the team to Carlsberg Cup and TNM Super League glories last season.
But Kananji could not maintain the hot seat this season as he lacks some of the requirements as required by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This prompted Bullets to give the position to Ramadhan who according to the Bullets General Secretary “fulfilled some of the requirements for participation in Caf competition” including Caf coaching licence same applies to Lloyd Nkhwazi.
Meanwhile, Fote said the team is confident of yielding positive results with the calibre of its technical pane.
“We have confidence in the ability of all coaches therefore we look forward to a great season” he said.
Bullets has since appointed John Phiri and Fundi Akidu as Team Managers, Swadick Sanudi as goalkeeper trainer while Billy Tewesa has maintained his position as Technical Director.
The 2014/15 season assistant coach Mabvuto Lungu is the only person who has been left out on reasons the club Chairman Kondi Msungama insists cannot be revealed to the media.
The major assignment for the newly refurbished Technical Panel will be against Comoros Island side Fomboni Club de Moheil in the opening match of the preliminary round in the Caf championship.
