Bullets in goalkeeper crisis: Chaima out for six weeks
Champions Big Bullets are in goalkeeping crisis following the confirmation that their number one keeper Owen Chaima will be out of action for six weeks.
Chaima got injured and was forced to go out during Sunday’s league game against Red Lions at the Kamuzu Stadium which Bullets won 4-2.
He joins Vincent Gona on the injury list who also got injured in the first round.
Bullets Vice General Secretary Kelvin Moyo confirmed on Tuesday confirmed the extent of the injury that Chaima will be put will be out for action for six weeks
“This will indeed affect us since we already have Gona (Vincent) injured as well. Now we only have Chimwemwe Kumkwawa available but we will see what to do with recommendations from technical panel.
“The other option can be using Swadick Sanudi (goalkeeper trainer) because he has a card that can enable him play but he hasn’t featured in a competetive match for a long period,” said Moyo.
According to Moyo, Bullets technical panel is expect to forward their suggestions on how to resolve the issue by Wednesday evining.
“It is a big blow,” said Moyo.
