Ahead of the inaugural Foundation for Irrigation and Sustainable Development (FISD) Challenge Cup final, the verbal war on who will win the Cup still continues.
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers old age rivals Nyasa Big Bullets through their Chairman Noel Lipipa have joined the debate and added some flavour to the much anticipated Cup Final.
As usual, the Bullets Chair has bet against their rivals and predicts Kamuzu Barracks will be crowned Champions of the inaugural Cup.
According to Lipipa, the soldiers have been outstanding because of their hard working, team spirit and will be inspired by their fine form in the elite TNM Superleague.
“If you can ask me who is going to win [Fisd Cup] I am putting my money on KB” Lipipa said.
KB are the current league leaders with 52 points from 27 games while the Lali Lubani boys also famously valled ‘Nyerere’ are on position six with 44 points.
The winner of the FISD Challenge Cup will walk home with a trophy and a K10 Million prize money.
Activities to spice up the big day started on Friday when sponsors hired a Malawi Defence Force Airforce Plane which flew around the Capital City.
R&B singer Lulu also performed at a number of places the plane landed.
The Cup is sponsored to the tune of K45 Million by Fisd Company Limited who are experts in supplying, promoting and offering of irrigation services which according to one of the Directors Frank Mwenechanya is the answer to the hunger problems being experienced in
Mwenechanya recently said the company which is owned by four guys has had a massive response from the general public since it associated itself with football.
The cup sponsorship deal the company signed with Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is for five years.
