Bullets move up four places after win over Tigers

Following their 2-1 victory to Azam Tigers on Monday, Big Bullets have climbed four steps on the log table from eleven to eight in the elite TNM Super League.

The People’s team came from behind to beat the Kau-Kau boys at Kalulu Stadium courtesy of Henry ‘Magetsi’ Kabichi on the spot kick before Douglas ‘Section 65’ Chirambo nailed the last nail on the coffin of Tigers.

However, Escom United which has been left with a single game against Silver Strikers is still leading the table with 47 points from 27 games.

Bullets have moved four places

Coming second is Silver Strikers with 42 points from 26 games.

The Bankers, who missed an opportunity to close the gap with the Electricians after a 1-0 loss to Mighty Wanderers, have a daunting task on Saturday as they face free scoring Moyale Barracks in Area 47.

On third place is Blantyre United with 42 points from 26 games with Mighty ‘Nyerere’ Wanderers chasing them closely with the same number of points and games.

However, the two teams can be separated this coming Saturday, as they face each other at the giant Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city of Malawi.

This will be the first time for ‘Nyerere’ as Nomads are popularly known, to play at the soccer mecca since their ban was lifted by the Super League of Malawi.

Blue Eagles are basking on position five with 42 points having wrapped up their games for 2011-2012 seasons.

The favorites’ for the title, Civo United who have two assignments this coming weekend in the old capital city of Malawi, Zomba are on sixth place with 41 points from 25 games.

If the Civil Servants will manage to beat Cobbe Barracks on Saturday and Zomba United the following day they will move to 47 points as the same as Escom United.

The soldiers from Zomba City, Red Lions are on seventh place with 41 points having finished their games while Big Bullets are on their back with the same number of points only that they have been left with a game against Civo United in Lilongwe.

The soldiers of Kaning’ina in Mzuzu, Moyale Barracks are on nine position with 40 points from 25 games while Epac Fc also known as ‘Njenjete zapa Lilongwe’ are on their neck with the same number of points from 27 games.

Azam Tigers are on eleven place with 37 points from 27 games while Mafco fc are following them having kicked the ball 27 times with 36 points.

However, three teams namely Cobbe Barracks, Zomba United and Embangweni United are stuck on the relegation zone.

So far a total of 561 cards have been flashed with 33 red cards and 528 yellow cards.

Ishmael Thindwa from Epac fc is still the leading scorer with 18 goals as Moyale Barracks free scoring machine Gastin Simkonda is chasing him closely with 16 goals.

Simkonda stands a better chance to overtake Thindwa because his club has three games to go while Thindwa’s club has only one game to wrap up the season.
