Bullets players now focused for ‘more glory’
Champions Big Bullets players ended their three days strike and resumed training on Friday at Blantyre Sports Club in readiness of a match against Civo United in Wednesday’s Standard Bank Cup Knock-out encounter at Kamuzu Stadium.
The players were demanding for the removal of three officials from general secretary Titha Mandiza, supporter’s general secretary Mabvuto Chibambo and supporters treasure Bruce Tambwali following the K16 million gross revenue realized from the TNM Super League game against Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
This development angered the players, who demanded the removal of the trio or else they will put their tools down.
The strike started on Tuesday before Big Bullets Board of Trustees summoned for an emergency meeting where they resolved to suspend only Chibambo and Tambwali so that investigations’ should be carried out.
After the suspension of the two officials, the players resumed training and stressed the strike is water under the bridge.
Captain Fischer Kondowe said the players are now focused on Wednesday’s encounter against Civo United in the Standard Bank.
“The strike is water under the bridge as everybody is now focused on our next game. Let us assure our fans that despite missing some training days we will not be affected,” he said.
