Bullets suffer Fischer injury blow
Bullets FC will be without winger Fischer Kondowe for three weeks after he sustaineda knee injury while training.
The ‘people’s team’ cannot afford to drop any more points in their pursuit of the league title, having thrown away chances of winning a silverware then they were booted out in the Carlsberg Cup on Wednesday by Kamuzu Barracks..
“I twisted my knee when I was jogging all alone. I did not make contact with any player,” he said.
“I struggled to sleep on Monday. It was really painful. Right now I can see some improvement. I am looking forward to getting back to action soon,” said the veteran midfielder.
Meanwhile, Bullets FC assistant coach Gerald Phiri revealed that the winger would be out for some time.
“Following the injury, we have decided to give him some rest. He will be out for about three weeks,” he said.
Some of the notable league games that Kondowe will miss are Bullets vs Mponela on Saturday, Bullets vs Blue Eagles on Sunday and Bullets vs Silver Strikers on September 1.
Kondowe, together with Heston Munthali, was recently left out of the squad that defeated Silver Strikers in the Carlsberg Cup last Saturday.
Bullets head coach Eddington Ng’onamo said the players had been left out because of lack of commitment in training.
