The prize presentation took place at Airtel’s Limbe Offices in Blantyre.

In his remarks, Patel said the prize from the Tisanje Promotion will definitely change his life for the better.

“This is the best day of my life. I will use part of the money to donate at any hospital in the country because our hospitals are facing many challenges in their day to day operations,” he said.

Airtel’s head of Enterprise Rachel Mijiga said Airtel which prides itself in giving its customers an all round first class experience, designed the Tisanje promotion with an aim of uplifting and filling customers lives with joy, an outcome which she said the promotion surpassed.

“The Tisanje promotion which received an overwhelming response from customer, registered over numerous entrants per day. We knew that customers would respond positively to the promotion, that is why also we decided to frequently reward them with daily and monthly prizes,” Mijiga pointed out.

On the winner, Mijiga said he did not win this draw by random luck, but by his choice of being an Airtel customer.

“The winner use of Airtel Money, purchasing of Airtel’s airtime through scratch cards and zachang, has bought him other winners similarly good fortune,” she said.

She promised Malawians that Airtel is still in a celebratory mood hence expects more and more exciting goodies coming soon.

Airtel spent k41.2 million on customer prizes in the promotion, a figure which Mijiga said was justified as Airtel customers deserved good things.

To create equal opportunity, Airtel selected a grand prize winner from each of the three regions. The winner from the northern region is yet to receive his prize in the coming week.

Airtel is Malawi’s leading mobile service provider, offering the most affordable services and products. Recently Airtel celebrated attaining 3.5 million customers in Malawi.

This is the problem with illiterate people who just start talking.

Its only in Malawi whereby a prize like this one is given to foreigners, in RSA, they dont give foreigners such prizes, when they just discover that you are a foreigner either by passport no, name or language, they turn down the prize to the the locals
