Catholic church to ordain  8 priests at Limbe Cathedral Saturday

The Archdiocese of Blantyre for influential Roman Catholic church is set to ordain eight deacons to priesthood on Saturday at Limbe Cathedral in a mass which will be led by His Grace Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa.

To be ordained priests are three diocesan deacons: – Daniel Kambalame from Nkhwai Parish in Chiradzulu,Foster Matope from Namulenga Parish in Mulanje and Davison Salamba from Adorolata-Thyolo Parish in Thyolo.

The other five are Spiritans deacons are  James Balala from Ntenje Parish in Blantyre, Damiano Gabriel and Edward Tembo both from Thunga Parish in Thyolo, William Kalande from Ndirande Parish in Blantyre and Lucius Zuze from Chipini Parish  in Zomba.

According to the Deputy Communications Co-ordinator, Fr Frank Mwinganyama, the mass will start at 9 o’clock.

Fr Mwinganyama is urging all Christians and well wishers to join the archdiocese in large numbers to witness the occasion as well as to pray together as a family.

He said the Catholic Church believe in unity, so hence this call to celebrate together as a family.

“We ask all the parishes within the Archdiocese to start the preparing for patronage of the event,”

“It is a moment of thanksgiving to God for the gift of these Shepherds some of whom will serve here in Malawi. The Archdiocese of Blantyre needs more priests as the number of Christians keeps soaring, calling for more services,” said Fr Mwinganyama.
