The Mindset

Chancy explains that the mindset is a book that is developed from research and observation of the workability of various thought experiments and theories of success in the day to day living.

The book exposes that the mindset, which is described as mental attitude towards situations, determines the success or failure of any endeavors that human beings pursue.

“I have taken the time to write this book out of a deep sitting desire in my heart to share to my fellow youth what I think is key to transforming our lives. Often times the youth blame the government or the economy and say that because everything is out of place it is impossible to make any progress. Such statements make sense until one cites examples of some others who have made progress.”

In the book, Chancy explains that the only distinguishing factor between the successful and the not so successful people is how their minds view the various circumstances that the individuals encounter in the course of living. Taking action is a recurring theme in the book through which Chancy shows that, “ even though people might posses the information that is required for someone to succeed, if they do not put their knowledge into action, they still remain in the same state in which they have always been.”

Chancy Ng’oma’s book comes at a time when Malawi is characterized by rising unemployment despite an increasing number of students who graduate from tertiary education every year. Several organizations, business experts and the government have urged the youth to change their pattern of thought from that of seeking employment to that of creating employment.

“I am not only optimistic, but I also know that if the youths can read through the theories of this book, understand them and apply them, they are defiantly going to succeed in their ventures.”

He said some of the theories in the book have been in existence for quite some time. Some authors have written about them and those that have tried them have testified to their success.

“The other problem with the youth today is that they do not read as much as they should be reading. Only if they did, they would know about these theories, apply them and succeed.”

Chancy is determined to have his book spread to as many young people as possible. Young as he is, Chancy has also served as the president of the Catholic University of Malawi Commerce Students Association.

He is  a director of Christ-Ward, a movement which focuses on impacting the young generation with the gospel mainly through art.
