Chakwera co-signs Kalawe’s Dzuka Malawi

In a recent televised interview whose clip has gone viral on social media, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has showered praises on urban artist Kalawe’s hit “Dzuka Malawi”.

Kalawe: Dzuka Malawi hitmaker
Chakwera:  Kwacha, Dzuka Malawi!

According to Kalawe, Dzuka Malawi crystallizes a message to call every Malawian to wake up and do something about Malawi knowing that the nation was in a sleep state.

“I took the comment with so many honor. Dr Chakwera is a respected man and liking my song it’s not something diminutive. Listening to Dr Chakwera’s comment, I get the impression that he enjoys the song in the context that I had in mind when I did it and that makes me feel understood.

“For the longest time I felt misunderstood by quarters who look at the song as an attack on specific groupings when I intended it to be wake up call to my nation. Issues in the song, of the many, included asking Malawians to take and I expected all Malawians to support the message to achieve the intended,” Kalawe explained in an interview.

He further observed that if Malawians are the poorest and public services are behind other countries then there is something the citizenry are not doing right.

“Two years have lapsed since I released the song but it still matters in lives of the people more. Artists have a role to play in the society; it’s just that most are focused on the wrong things. Am not saying everyone should do a song for Malawi but when we can it’s a good thing to pass a message that builds our nation compared to an irrelevant subject that only matter for a day,” he explained.

Kalawe’s last song was “Major Sanagive” which was released in 2016.

He has since promised to do more shows and use music to make a positive impact among the youth in 2018.

Kalawe’s blue attire is fantastic. His facial expression communicates something contrally to what Chakwera thinks. Kalawe is difficult to be understood; you need to be very close to him.
Action and expression speak louder than words. His attire is blue and not green. His facial expression shows unhappiness with the person praising him. Dzuka Malawi was actually shortened. The title in full reads ‘Dzuka Malawi Congress Party’ and start looking for a winning candidate if you are serious about 2019.

its so obvious that chakwera likes it , when he mentions about the kamuzu staff n the dzuka itself reflects mcp killers , but the song is good at a malawian standard , but due to political grounds , its will be sidelined bcuz of a bit of favouritism here n there

It is just like Bakili thanking Lucious for the song MIZIMU. It is just like APM praising Nkasa for his recent song running viral on MBC TV. The song is a devastating bomb to MCP. Malawians woke up in 1993 when they told MCP that they want other parties to compete with it. They extended their waking up by showing MCP the exit door in 1994, a thing which is haunting the party up to now. Being praised by Chakwera does not mean the song is a love bird to all Malawians. Chakwera might love the song because it talks… Read more »

Kumeneko ndiye kubwera bwana Chakwera. You appreciate other people’s work. If a person like you appreciates what others have done. That’s encouraging.
