Chakwera Locks Eastern Region, Sweeps Balaka, Machinga and Mangochi with Bold Message of Hope
Fresh from commissioning two flagship projects in Thyolo and Zomba, President Lazarus Chakwera stormed the Eastern Region on Thursday with a powerful message of unity and development, electrifying crowds in Balaka, Machinga, and Mangochi.
Earlier in the day, Chakwera opened the state-of-the-art Thyolo District Council Office Complex and a brand-new stadium in Zomba City, before hitting the campaign trail with whistle-stop tours that drew thousands at Liwonde in Balaka, Nsanama and Ntaja in Machinga, and Namwera and Mangochi Boma in Mangochi.
Everywhere he went, the President was met with jubilation, chants, and overwhelming excitement as he assured the people that his re-election will guarantee the continuation of development projects transforming the Eastern Region and Malawi at large.
“As a servant leader, I want to continue implementing projects that uplift Malawians. We have laid a strong foundation, and the next five years will see Malawi develop extensively—without tribal boundaries, but in unity,” Chakwera declared to thunderous applause.
The President highlighted major achievements under his administration, including new police houses, government offices, classroom blocks, and key road networks, stressing that his leadership style has always been about uniting the nation, unlike past regimes that sowed division.
With his campaign now in full swing across all regions, Chakwera is positioning the Malawi Congress Party’s manifesto as the roadmap for inclusive growth and a hopeful future.
