Chakwera to have live webinar interview with UK-based Invest Africa : To beckon investors

Invest Africa,  a London –based leading business and investment platform, will be hosting a live interview with Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera this Thursday at 15:00pm.

Chakwera will update global investors and businesses on how his government plans

The exclusive interview: ‘Insight for Investors with His Excellency, Lazarus Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi’ will be hosted live through webinar.

In its briefing made available to Nyasa Times, Invest Africa says  shortly after the historic fresh presidential vote on June 23, President Chakwera talked of his ambition to bring the people of Malawi “shared prosperity, not just freedom”.

In the  interview with Invest Africa, the Malawi leader will update global investors and businesses on how his government plans to make this dream a reality by tackling issues around COVID-19, job creation and universal fertiliser subsidies for the country’s growing agricultural sector.

Malawi High Commission in the UK  has been coordinating the interview  with  Invest Africa.

In 2017 Invest Africa and the Business Council for Africa (BCA) announced a strategic partnership and advised their respective memberships of the intention to merge their operations. Malawian James Woods-Nkhutabasa has been serving as a Malawi Country Director and Advisor for the organisation since 2013 and is called upon for works regarding the continent.

It’s a pity His Excellency can’t travel to London for this ‘Investment Conference’

Undoubtedly it would be very productive, with many meeting and signings of memorandums.

His Excellency could tout the advantages of investing in the ‘Warm Heart’ of Africa.

We have numerous advantages, such as a strong and reliable power supply, excellent road network, efficient court system, and a wonderful government that leads the world in holding conferences and meetings.

Sorry but have you ever travelled out of Malawi? Seems not. Go visit other countries first then you will realise that Malawi is at the bottom of the league. We are landlocked, we are corrupt, we are jealous people, we have poverty and ignorance in our urban and rural, areas. How much investment did Muluzi, Bingu, Joyce Banda, APM attract, zero. All we can ever hope for are the Amwenys and the Chinamen who are looting and bribing to enrich themselves.

Teleconferencing is the way to go now. Malawi representatives in London can finish of the negotiations and Chakwera will ultimately sign the memorandums you mention without travelling.

Chakwera is wasting his time with Webinar’s. Businesses in the west and more so in U.K. are going bankrupt and Covid is taking its toll on the people of U.K. only crooks and con artists will take part or waste time listening to Mr Talk Talk Chakwera. Better Chakwera devote his time to solving problems in Malawi or better still winning the By Elections. Otherwise UTM will knock him down with self goals
